ANE is looking for a student to support coordination activities

Are you interested in international cooperation with the focus on emerging technologies? Would you like to be a part of coordination activities that strive to promote the role of engineers in the Nordic region? Do you have an eye for details and flair for organizing events from strategic planning to logistics?  If yes, you might be interested in the student job in our organization.

Tasks description and requirements

We are looking for a student with specialization in political science and/or international relations to support the daily operations of the ANE secretariat.

The position will entail the following tasks:

  • Providing support to the General Secretary in planning and executing various events: expert meetings, conferences, panel debates, etc. This requires drafting of background materials, communicating with different stakeholders, preparing meeting reports, ensuring follow-up and taking care of logistics matters;
  • Conducting desk research, elaborating strategies for stakeholders' engagement and preparing project proposals;
  • Taking responsibility for communication by managing the website content, drafting news and populating them on social media as well as finding relevant news in different media/news channels;
  • Coordinating activities of the ANE student network.

The position will require:

  • Fluency in English and Danish, both written and oral. Understanding of another Scandinavian language would be an advantage. The working language of the Association is English, but daily communication is mostly in Danish;
  • Strong communication and networking skills. Being able to adapt quickly and present ideas in a comprehensive way both orally and in written;
  • Strategic and analytical thinking. Being able to learn quickly and present concise reports;
  • Ability to work independently and in the cross-cultural team. Being able to integrate quickly and build relations with coordinators and key experts from the four organisations;

The job is of 15 hours per week divided into 2-3 days per week. The start day is 15 February or 1st March. ANE promotes the interests of Nordic engineers in international affairs, reinforces the Nordic cross-organisational cooperation and raises awareness of the Nordic engineers' profession.

The Association of Nordic Engineers (ANE) was established in May 2007 as a binding cooperation between the founding organisations: The Swedish Association of Graduate Engineers (Sveriges Ingenjörer), The Danish Society of Engineers (IDA) and The Norwegian Society of Engineers and Technologists (NITO). The Association of Chartered Engineers in Iceland, VFÍ  has joined ANE in January 2018.

Together, ANE represents more than 340,000 engineers in the Nordic Region.
